A celebration of International Children’s Day was held by the Romanian community in Swansea on June 1, 2024

The International Children’s Day celebration in Swansea took place on June 1, 2024, at Dinu’s Pizza in Swansea at the initiative of Madalina and Dinu Cojocariu, with the support of the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Wales, and with a few of our community members directly involved.

A great deal of honour was given to us by the presence of our esteemed guests, Rocio Cifuentes, the Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Diana Stroia, the High Sheriff in Nomination for West Glamorgan in the year 2025, Cristina Jones and Madalin Milu from South Wales Police, and Father Vasile Flavian Branescu. It was a pleasure to have them present and hear their insightful words, followed by outdoor activities, eating together and socializing.

In participating in this event, our community celebrated the profound significance of June 1, which is celebrated in 51 countries, demonstrating the commitment to children’s rights and well-being around the world.

Nevertheless, we would like to express our profound appreciation to this event’s sponsors: St Ellis Brasserie, Langland Brasserie, Aqua Carpatica, Parohia Ortodoxa Swansea, Destination Wood, Souls Memories, Diana Cune, Owl Financial, and Photomirea.
